Traffic will be restricted on certain sections of Būriņu Road until 5 November, as asphalting work begins. The restrictions were announced by Pilsētsaimniecība, an agency of the Jelgava municipality. They will affect drivers and residents who need to travel by vehicle in the area while the work is under way.
Section A: 2 and 3 November
In construction section A, restrictions will apply on 2 and 3 November, each day from 9:00 to 19:00. A layer of mineral material is scheduled to be laid on the first day, and the asphalt concrete surface will be laid on 3 November.
Section B: 4 and 5 November
In construction section B, traffic will be restricted on 4 and 5 November, also from 9:00 to 19:00. During these hours it will not be possible to enter the area concerned or to leave it. Drivers will be warned by "No entry" road signs.
Appeal to residents
Pilsētsaimniecība asks residents to plan their journeys in good time. During the works, cars must not be left in the work zone; people should use the parking places marked on the published diagram instead.
The agency also notes that the work schedule may change depending on the weather. This means the dates and times given could be adjusted if conditions prevent the surfacing from being laid in the planned order.
