Czech coach: 'We were closer to winning'

The Czech Republic drew with South Africa in the World Cup group A second round after conceding a penalty in the 83rd minute, remaining winless for the second consecutive match.

In the second round of Group A at the World Cup, the Czech national football team faced South Africa. The Czechs took the lead but in the 83rd minute, a handball was penalized with a penalty kick. South Africa converted the spot-kick to level the score.

After the match, the Czech head coach commented that his team was closer to victory than the opponents. He expressed disappointment at missing the chance to secure their first win in the tournament. This was the second consecutive game where the Czech Republic failed to achieve a victory.
