D23 offers first look at Ahsoka season 2 trailer and Starfighter footage
Lucasfilm used its D23 presentation to release the first trailer for Star Wars: Ahsoka season 2 and to show exclusive Starfighter footage introduced onstage by Ryan Gosling.

At this year's D23 event, Lucasfilm shared updates on two upcoming Star Wars projects. Attendees got the first official trailer for season two of Star Wars: Ahsoka, even though the show's premiere is still months out, scheduled for January 20th, 2027.
The trailer points to a darker tone for the series, incorporating elements of witchcraft into the Star Wars universe. Central to the footage is Grand Admiral Thrawn, marked by blue skin, red eyes and an unsettlingly calm manner, who threatens to plunge the galaxy back into large-scale war following the Empire's collapse.

Actor Ryan Gosling also appeared on the D23 stage to tease the upcoming film Star Wars: Starfighter. Footage was screened for the live audience, but Lucasfilm has not released it publicly online, meaning only those physically present got to see it.
A handful of purported leaks have surfaced on social media since, though their authenticity hasn't been confirmed. Wider access to the material is expected before long, as Star Wars: Starfighter is set for a theatrical release on May 28th, 2027.
The film's cast includes Gosling alongside Matt Smith, Aaron Pierre and Mia Goth, among others.
