Dacia introduces full hybrid powertrain for Sandero Stepway

Dacia has introduced the first full hybrid version of the Sandero Stepway, the raised-body variant of its popular Sandero model. Named Hybrid 155, it combines a 1.8-litre petrol engine, a 49 hp electric motor and a multi-mode automatic gearbox. The combined system output is 158 hp, making it the most powerful member of the Sandero family.

The new powertrain is designed to balance performance and efficiency. The hybrid Stepway accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.3 seconds and has a top speed of 180 km/h. Average fuel consumption is 4.4 litres per 100 km according to the WLTP cycle, while CO2 emissions stand at 100 g/km. The car also features an E-Save function that lets the driver preserve the energy stored in the battery for later use.

The Sandero Stepway is one of Europe's best-selling cars. Previously it was offered with a 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine producing 65 hp, a TCe 90 turbo petrol version with 90 hp, and the ECO-G 100 variant that runs on both petrol and liquefied petroleum gas. With the addition of the Hybrid 155, the model gains its first full hybrid option, providing a more economical alternative without the need to charge the battery from an external source.

In Germany, the new hybrid Stepway starts at €20,790 in Expression trim, while the Extreme version costs from €21,990. The hybrid version is thus offered at an accessible price and with competitive fuel consumption.
