Bystanders Save Woman Whose Heart Stopped in a Daugavpils Store
In Daugavpils, prompt action by onlookers and medical professionals saved a woman who suffered cardiac arrest in a shop.

A woman's life was saved in Daugavpils after she experienced a cardiac arrest in a store. Bystanders immediately called the Emergency Medical Service (EMS) and began performing chest compressions, continuing until paramedics arrived.
The EMS team continued resuscitation efforts and transported the patient to the Emergency Medicine Clinic of Daugavpils Regional Hospital, where necessary diagnostics and treatment were provided. Specialists from the hospital's Cardiac and Great Vessel Catheterization Laboratory also participated in saving her life by addressing the cause of the life-threatening condition.
The hospital emphasizes that this case highlights the importance of timely, coordinated actions at every step – from bystanders' readiness to provide first aid to the professional teamwork of EMS and hospital staff.
