Dāvis Ikaunieks helps Kaunas Žalgiris snatch victory, Markuss Strods returns to action

In a top-of-the-table clash in the Lithuanian championship, Kaunas Žalgiris scored two late goals while a man up and defeated direct rival TransInvest 2-1. Latvian player Dāvis Ikaunieks entered the match in the 64th minute, with the score still 0-1 and the hosts at full strength.

Kaunas Žalgiris ended an eight-match winless run (0-5-3) in the league and moved up to provisional second place with 27 points from 17 games. Leaders Telšiai Džiugas have one point more, while TransInvest are two points behind, though both rivals have played one game fewer.

In the Irish championship, Bohemians failed to hold an early lead and lost 1-2 at home to direct rival Dundalk, suffering their third defeat in four matches.
