A dwarf rabbit is not as easy a pet as it seems
Latvian Television's programme "Ķepa uz sirds" warns that decorative, or dwarf, rabbits need special care throughout their lives. The animal can even disappoint its new owner.

Decorative, or dwarf, rabbits are sold even in pet shops, and they are usually pictured as cute, fluffy animals that need no special care. The Latvian Television programme "Ķepa uz sirds" says this is far from the truth.
According to the programme, a rabbit is a very demanding pet. It needs special care for its entire life. For that reason it can even disappoint a new owner who bought it without knowing what to expect.
For anyone considering a dwarf rabbit, the programme advises first finding out what keeping such an animal really involves.
