The 51st Infantry Battalion of the National Guard's 4th Kurzeme Brigade will conduct orienteering exercises from Friday, July 31 to August 2 in the parishes of Īle and Zebrene, Dobele Municipality. The goal is to enhance soldiers' orienteering skills in terrain during both daylight and darkness.

Participants will use maps, compasses, and other navigation tools to plan precise routes, reach control points, and assess situations in varied terrain and weather conditions. These tasks are designed to improve the ability to navigate in complex environments, which is crucial for military training.

Residents should expect temporary movement of military vehicles, soldiers, and National Guard members along roads in Īle and Zebrene parishes during the exercises. After the exercises, all activity sites will be cleaned and restored to their original condition.

Such training is part of regular preparation to maintain and enhance the unit's combat readiness and operational capabilities in diverse environments.
