Documentary director Ivars Zviedris spoke on the Latvian Radio programme "Laikmeta krustpunktā" (At the Crossroads of the Era) about his work and about his film project "Sērošanas ceļvedis" (A Guide to Grieving). Zviedris is the author of the documentaries "Dokumentālists", "Līdz nāve mūs šķirs" and "Kaprači".

He has held a number of conversations about grief with psychotherapist Artūrs Utināns, and some of them may appear in the film. The main idea the director took from these talks is that, when it comes to grieving, a person can train almost anything.

Other topics in the programme

Zviedris explained why documentary cinema does not begin and end at the moment the camera is switched on or off. He also described how his relationship with Inta, known as the bog woman, has continued over the years. The discussion also covered the obstacles that a person who observes events must overcome today, and what the heroes of his films have taught the director himself.

These questions are listed in the programme's description as the main themes of the conversation.
