Overnight into September 11, drones struck the Saratov oil refinery in Russia's Saratov region. Monitoring channels, including ASTRA and Exilenova+, reported a fire breaking out at the facility.

Around 2 a.m., the region's governor, Roman Busargin, reported a drone threat in the area. He said warning systems might be activated locally in places facing potential danger, and that all emergency services had been placed on full alert.

Fire also at OZON facility

Monitoring sources also reported a fire at a logistics hub belonging to online retailer OZON. In addition, explosions were heard in Engels, also located in the Saratov region.

OZON's press service later confirmed that its logistics center and delivery hub in Saratov had come under drone attack. The company said staff had been promptly evacuated and that, according to preliminary information, there were no casualties. Emergency services were working at the scene of the fire.

Preceding events

This is not the first such incident in Russia's oil sector recently. Rosneft's Ryazan oil refinery halted operations after a drone attack on September 6, with repairs to the damaged units expected to take several weeks.
