A warehouse belonging to Russian online retailer "Ozon" has been damaged in a Ukrainian drone strike in Russia's Samara region. The company's press service confirmed the warehouse caught fire and its operations were suspended.

More than 500 employees were evacuated from the warehouse just minutes before the strike, though several people were injured. Independent Russian outlet "Astra" reports the facility hit was located in Chapaevsk.

This marks the first time a Ukrainian drone strike has hit an Ozon facility. Since mid-July, Ukraine had already carried out multiple strikes on logistics centers belonging to rival platform "Wildberries," Russia's largest online retailer.

Fire also breaks out at oil refinery

According to "Astra," the same wave of Ukrainian drone strikes also sparked a fire at the Novokuibyshevsk oil refinery, also located in the Samara region.

Ukraine regularly targets Russian oil industry facilities, which are often forced to reduce or halt production after such strikes. These attacks have contributed to a worsening fuel crisis inside Russia.

Kyiv has explained its strikes on Wildberries logistics centers partly by noting that the company sells goods to the Russian military.

"Ozon" is Russia's second-largest online retail platform.
