Dyson's Most Powerful Cordless Vacuum Discounted During Dyson Week Sale
Dyson's "Dyson Week" sale runs through Halloween, with discounts on vacuums and other devices. The newest cordless model, the V16 Piston Animal, is priced at $820.
Dyson, the home-appliance maker, is holding its "Dyson Week" sale in the United States through Halloween (October 31), with reduced prices on vacuums, hair tools and large air purifiers. Technology outlet Wired reports that such prices are usually found only during major sale holidays. The event follows Prime Day, Amazon's sales event, and comes ahead of Black Friday.
Newest model
One of the better offers, according to Wired, is Dyson's newest and most powerful cordless vacuum, the V16 Piston Animal. It normally retails for almost $1,000 but is now $820. The bundle includes the Floor Dok, a stand that holds the vacuum along with its five attachments and keeps it charged. This bundle is available only through Dyson's website.
Amazon lists the V16 at $800, but without the Floor Dok. The article's author considers the $20 difference worthwhile, saying a freestanding charging stand makes the vacuum easier to store and use, and it needs no special mounting. The V16 Submarine version, which has a mop-like attachment head, is also discounted.
Cheaper alternatives
The less expensive V8 Cyclone and V15 Detect Absolute are on sale too. The V15 Detect is more powerful and comes with two vacuum heads, while the V8 Cyclone suits buyers on a tight budget. Both come bundled with a car cleaning kit containing a mini soft dusting brush, a stubborn-dirt brush and a quick-release extension hose for reaching deep car corners. The author has not yet tested the kit.
