Djokovic wins longest Wimbledon quarterfinal in five-hour epic
Novak Djokovic defeated Felix Auger-Aliassime in a five-hour and 15-minute quarterfinal, the longest in Wimbledon history, to advance to the semifinals.

Novak Djokovic, ranked eighth in the world, battled for five hours and 15 minutes to defeat world number four Felix Auger-Aliassime in the longest quarterfinal in Wimbledon history. The final score was 7:6 (12:10), 3:6, 6:3, 6:7 (4:7), 7:6 (10:4), surpassing the previous record of 5:12.
The 39-year-old Serbian entered the match as the favorite with betting odds of 1.60. In the first set tiebreak, Djokovic saved three set points and won 12-10, but lost the fourth set tiebreak 4-7. In the decisive fifth-set tiebreak, he won the last nine points due to opponent errors, closing it out 10-4.
Although Djokovic won fewer points on first serve (73% vs 79%), he was superior on second serve (64% vs 43%) and won more total points (189 vs 185). Auger-Aliassime hit more winners (74 vs 43) but also more unforced errors (61 vs 47). Break points: Djokovic converted 2 of 13, his opponent 2 of 4.
This was Djokovic's 55th Grand Slam semifinal appearance. He is competing at Wimbledon for the 21st time and has won seven titles here. Auger-Aliassime, playing in his seventh Wimbledon, matched his best result with a quarterfinal run, also achieved in 2021. In the semifinals, Djokovic will face Italian world number one Jannik Sinner.
