Latvian forward Eduards Tralmaks has inked a contract with the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League (NHL), the club announced. The 29-year-old signed a two-way, one-season deal worth $850,000.
Tralmaks was previously a free agent after leaving the Detroit Red Wings organization. Last season, he was called up from the farm club but did not make his NHL debut. In the American Hockey League (AHL), he played for the Grand Rapids Griffins, recording 26 goals and 16 assists in 64 games, with a plus-minus rating of +29.
Before that, Tralmaks spent two seasons in the Czech Extraliga with Kladno Rytíři. In the 2024-25 season, he led the league in regular-season scoring with 51 points (23 goals, 28 assists) in 48 games. Had he not secured a contract in North America, Tralmaks would likely have returned to the Czech league.
Earlier, he was part of the Boston Bruins organization, playing for the Providence Bruins in the AHL, where he notched 41 points (22 goals, 19 assists) in 87 regular-season games. Tralmaks also played four years of NCAA hockey at the University of Maine and spent four seasons in US junior leagues.
