Economist Strautiņš: Theory and practice must go hand in hand; life school was in Denmark
Economist Pēteris Strautiņš highlights the balanced importance of theory and practice, sharing his experience from a year of studies in Denmark, which allows him to view Latvia with slight irony.

In an interview with "Radio Naba" program "Grāds kabatā," economist Pēteris Strautiņš reveals that, although theoretical knowledge is important and without it one cannot even engage in hobbies, over the years he has become convinced of the significance of practical skills. In his view, both theory and practice are necessary.
Strautiņš points out that his real-life school was a year of study in Denmark through an exchange program. The experience gained there allows him to view events in Latvia with a touch of irony. The economist encourages people to do things that require greater effort, as this fosters growth.
He emphasizes that a lack of practice can hinder development, but practice alone is not enough – theory provides a foundation for understanding what to do and why. Strautiņš's example from Denmark shows that international experience broadens horizons and offers a new perspective on one's own country.
