Britain will see another change of prime minister on Monday, as Andy Burnham takes office. Burnham, who succeeded Keir Starmer as leader of the ruling Labour Party last week, will enter No. 10 Downing Street at lunchtime and begin appointing his top team.

Starmer, who was forced out despite winning a landslide majority only two years ago, will deliver a farewell speech in front of No. 10 before traveling to Buckingham Palace to meet King Charles III and formally resign. Following that, Burnham will have his own audience with the monarch.

After returning to Downing Street, Burnham is expected to give a speech outlining his priorities, which so far focus on devolving power, tackling the cost of living, and bringing "hope" to the country. He will then settle into the job and select his cabinet.

Expect a flurry of announcements throughout the day on Burnham's appointments and early policy signals, as the new prime minister sets the direction of his government.
