Endocrinologist: Obesity is a chronic disease requiring lifelong treatment

Obesity is not just excess weight but a chronic disease that requires continuous treatment for a lifetime. This was stated by endocrinologist Sigita Pastare from the Zemgale Diabetes Center on Latvijas Radio's program "Kā labāk dzīvot".

She stressed the importance of finding a suitable doctor or specialist whom the patient can trust and work with to uncover the true causes of the disease. Pastare noted that initial treatment will involve hard work, but it is essential in the long term to achieve a healthier weight and improve quality of life.
