Erick the Architect, a founding member and primary producer of the legendary hip-hop group Flatbush Zombies, shared his tech preferences and memories in a recent interview. Despite collaborating with artists like Joey Bada$$ and James Blake and performing on major stages, he still feels nostalgia for physical phone keyboards.

When asked what he would change about his phone, Erick replied: "I miss typing on my phone with a physical keyboard like I used to do using a BlackBerry." He notes that his most indispensable tool is a Moleskine notebook and a pen. The first app he installs on a new phone or computer is Dropbox to access his thousands of files.

Speaking about his favorite gadget, the musician mentioned the 4th generation iPod. As for the biggest disappointment, he named the Nokia N-Gage gaming phone, which he bought with his own money. He also fondly recalled playing Resident Evil 4 on GameCube, playing so much that his eyes turned bloodshot.

Erick stated he is not a fan of virtual reality and dislikes putting things over his eyes. He admitted he wishes he had created the song "Bohemian Rhapsody" and is most proud of his 2011 project "Almost Remembered," which gave him the confidence to continue his work.

When he needs to focus, he turns off his phone or pretends he no longer has one. He often takes walks without his phone, using a digital audio player without internet access. For physical media, he recently bought records at VinylCon and collects Absolute Batman and Invincible comics.

At the end of the interview, Erick shared his mother's advice: "Everybody has a season, and although it may not be your season now… You have to consider that when it is, that season may last forever. Be patient and wait on it."
