Framework Laptop 13 Pro: Cheaper SSDs but Potential Price Hike Ahead
Framework announced that some Laptop 13 Pro preorders will get cheaper, larger SSDs, but warns of an upcoming CPU price increase that may raise laptop prices.

Framework has shared both good and bad news regarding its Laptop 13 Pro. The company announced it has secured cheaper PCIe Gen 5 SSDs from supplier Adata. Customers who preordered a configuration with a 500GB SSD will now receive a 1TB drive at a lower price. Additionally, configurations with the new 1TB or 2TB SSDs are now available for order, though they are not yet visible in the DIY configurator.
However, Framework also warned that it has received signals that CPU pricing will increase soon. As a result, the company expects to adjust the overall system price for new orders of the Laptop 13 Pro in the coming weeks. This news comes amid a component crisis that has already driven up prices across tech hardware, including recent increases for Apple devices and Xbox consoles.
The Framework Laptop 13 Pro was first announced in April, with initial shipments planned for June. The company recently delayed those shipments to July due to issues with the laptop's haptic touchpad and custom display.
