France expels pro-Kremlin journalist
French authorities have ordered the expulsion of Ksenia Fedorova, former editor-in-chief of RT France, accusing her of spreading disinformation and posing a threat to national security.
France has decided to expel Ksenia Fedorova, the former editor-in-chief of the Russian propaganda channel RT France. On July 29, the Paris police prefecture handed a ministerial deportation order to Fedorova's lawyer. The document states that Fedorova's actions "damage the fundamental interests of the state" and that her presence in France "represents an extremely serious and imminent threat to public order."
French authorities accuse Fedorova of acting as a relay for disinformation campaigns orchestrated by Russian authorities, aiming to "destabilize public order" in the country. She is also said to have "contributed to the spread of disinformation and destabilization rhetoric" intended to "manipulate public opinion" and "undermine the trust of European, particularly French, citizens in their institutions."
RT France ceased broadcasting in January 2023. In May 2026, media outlets Politico and RFI reported that Fedorova had started working at the French right-wing conservative channel CNews.
