French far-right leader Bardella visits Poland-Belarus border
Jordan Bardella, leader of France's far-right National Rally, visited the Poland-Belarus border on Friday to observe border security measures.

Jordan Bardella, leader of the French far-right National Rally party and a likely presidential candidate, visited the Poland-Belarus border on Friday. Polish presidential chief of staff Paweł Szefernaker, who accompanied the politician, said that the Polish Border Guard presented border security operations, including a physical barrier and a modern electronic monitoring system.
Szefernaker noted it was an important opportunity to showcase solutions supporting effective protection of the European Union's external border. During the visit, Bardella also met with politicians from the far-right Confederation of Liberty and Independence party.
Bardella also visited Frontex headquarters in Warsaw. He stated that since 2021, the Polish border, the gateway to Europe, has faced unacceptable migration pressure from Belarus, with the consent of the Russian Federation. 'These destabilization operations are aimed solely at tearing Europe apart from within. We will never accept this blackmail: Frontex must stand alongside Poland to protect our continent,' he wrote on social media X on June 19.
Bardella may become the presidential candidate for the National Rally if Marine Le Pen is unable to run due to a conviction for misusing EU funds. Recently, Bardella has distanced himself from US President Donald Trump, whom he once openly admired.
