FromSoftware pushes The Duskbloods release back to 2027
Japanese studio FromSoftware has delayed its multiplayer game The Duskbloods, exclusive to Nintendo Switch 2. The game will now launch in 2027 to allow final changes to its rules and balance.

Japanese video game studio FromSoftware has announced that The Duskbloods, a multiplayer game exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2 console, will not be released this year as previously promised. The new window is sometime in 2027, with no specific date given. The game is in the final stages of development.
In a post on X, the studio said that an August network test showed active interest in the game's core concepts, including combat, strategic depth and player expression. To strengthen these areas further, the developers decided to move the launch and use the extra time for final adjustments to the rules and balancing.
FromSoftware revealed the gothic steampunk game in April 2025 during a Switch 2 showcase.
Engadget, the source of this report, notes that even if the game were ready now, a 2027 release would probably have made sense anyway. Grand Theft Auto 6 and the remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time are expected to take up much of players' attention for the rest of the year.
Not the first Switch 2 delay
The studio has postponed a game for the console before. A port of Elden Ring was originally due in 2025, but it only reached the system this August. It became clear that more time was needed to optimize the port after reports emerged of performance problems.
