127 clashes recorded on Ukraine's front line in one day, General Staff says

Ukraine's Armed Forces General Staff said in its evening situation report, issued as of 22:00, that 127 combat clashes had taken place along the front line since the start of the day on September 28.

According to the report, Russian forces carried out 60 air strikes over the day, dropping 171 guided aerial bombs. Russian troops also deployed 5,200 kamikaze drones and carried out 1,850 shelling attacks on populated areas and Ukrainian military positions.

Situation by direction

In the North Sloboda and Kursk directions, Ukrainian defense forces repelled three Russian attacks. In the South Sloboda direction, Russian forces attempted to storm Ukrainian positions seven times.

In the Kupiansk direction, defenders repelled an attack aimed at the city of Kupiansk. In the Lyman direction, three enemy attacks were repelled, while in the Sloviansk direction two attacks were stopped.

The heaviest fighting occurred in the Kostiantynivka direction, where 18 attacks were recorded, and in the Pokrovsk direction, where Ukrainian units repelled 26 enemy assaults. Two attacks each were recorded in the Oleksandrivka and Huliaipole directions, and four in the Orikhiv direction.
