197 Combat Clashes Recorded on Ukraine's Front Line Over the Day
Ukraine's General Staff reported 197 combat clashes along the front line as of 22:00 on September 21, with the heaviest fighting occurring in the Pokrovsk and Kostiantynivka directions.
Ukraine's General Staff of the Armed Forces reported that 197 combat clashes were recorded along the front line from the start of the day on September 21 through 22:00.
According to the General Staff's summary, Russian forces carried out 50 air strikes during this period, dropping 168 guided aerial bombs. In addition, Russian troops deployed 6,137 kamikaze drones and conducted 1,930 shelling attacks against populated areas and Ukrainian military positions.
Clashes by Direction
The most intense fighting of the day occurred in the Pokrovsk direction, where Russian forces attempted to storm Ukrainian positions 23 times. The Kostiantynivka direction saw slightly fewer assaults, with 14 recorded.
In the South Sloboda direction, Russian troops made seven attempts to seize Ukrainian positions, while in the Huliaipole direction such attempts occurred ten times.
Less intense fighting took place in the Lyman and Sloviansk directions, each recording three assaults, as well as in the Orikhiv direction with two. The Kupiansk and Kramatorsk directions each saw one assault attempt.
The General Staff noted that the overall summary reflects events up to the time the evening report was compiled, with combat activity continuing along the entire front line.
