G7 leaders will have to reassess the post-war international order, which, according to experts, has exhausted its potential. The United Nations, Bretton Woods institutions, and other pillars of international cooperation that provided relative stability and economic integration for decades can no longer function effectively in today's world.

Today's world has become too multipolar, too digitalized, and too politically diverse for global governance to be ensured solely by consensus. While it may be tempting to cling to the fading order or resign to permanent geopolitical competition, a transition to a new model of international cooperation based on coalition-based governance is necessary.

In many ways, these changes have already begun, though they remain largely unnoticed. From semiconductor supply chains to climate and security issues, countries are increasingly cooperating in specially formed coalitions to address specific problems – flexible partnerships that reflect the reality of a fragmented yet interconnected world.
