Google’s NotebookLM Adds TikTok-Style Video Summaries for Research

Google is expanding NotebookLM's capabilities with a new feature that creates short, TikTok-style AI videos from user-uploaded sources. The tool, rolling out to AI Ultra and Pro subscribers, produces 60-second vertical clips with AI-generated visuals and narration.
In an example, Google showcases a video about Australia's unsuccessful war on emus, featuring paper cutout-style AI art and voiceover. This addition complements existing NotebookLM features like AI-generated podcasts, cinematic videos, and visual explainers.
To generate a clip, users open a notebook on the web or app, select “Video” from the Studio column, choose “Short,” pick a topic or enter their own, and hit “Generate.” The feature is currently available only in English, with free user support coming “soon.”
