Google Photos adds a new AI ‘Video Remix’ tool
Google announced a new feature called “Video Remix” that uses AI to quickly edit and transform videos.

Google announced on Wednesday that Google Photos is getting a new “Video Remix” feature that can edit and transform videos in seconds using artificial intelligence. The feature is powered by Gemini Omni, Google’s recently released model that promises to “create anything from any input.”
Video Remix can be accessed in the “Create” tab in Google Photos. It allows users to apply cinematic relighting, swap backgrounds, or add artistic styles such as watercolor, raw sketchbook, and oil painting effects.
This is Google’s latest push to bring more generative AI tools into its consumer apps as it competes with companies like Apple, OpenAI, and Adobe. The rollout begins today for Google AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra subscribers in the U.S., Argentina, Bangladesh, Brazil, Colombia, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Japan, Mexico, Pakistan, Philippines, South Korea, and Turkey.
Google Photos recently also launched new touch-up tools and an AI-powered feature that turns photos of clothes into a digital closet for outfit ideas and virtual try-ons.
