Google will now tell you if an ad was made with AI
Google adds a label in its Ad Center to indicate whether ads on Search, Discover, and YouTube were created or edited using artificial intelligence.

Google has announced a new feature that lets users see if ads on Google Search, Google Discover, and YouTube were made or edited with AI. The update appears in Google's "My Ad Center," where users can already manage their ad preferences. By tapping the three dots or info button on an ad, users open a panel that now includes a "created or edited with AI" label under the "how this ad was made" tab.
Google says it will automatically apply this label to ads created using its own generative AI advertising tools. For ads made with third-party AI tools, advertisers will need to manually add the disclosure. In some regions, the AI label may also appear directly on the ad, whether applied automatically or manually by the advertiser.
Meta has a similar "AI info" label in its "About this ad" panel on its platforms. Google previously introduced disclosure requirements for synthetic or digitally altered content in political ads in 2024. This year, Google also expanded access to SynthID and C2PA content labels, which can help identify deepfake content.
