Latvian indie band “Vienuviet” has released its third single, “Divas karotes” (“Two Spoons”), and announced that its debut album will come out on 3 November. The band features married couple Oskars and Kintija Deigelis singing together, along with guitarist Andris Strods. The new song follows two earlier singles.
How the band has introduced its music
The group presented its first single, “Abi dabā”, to listeners this spring. The second song, “Plkst. 3.00”, followed in the summer, and the third single has now been released.
What “Divas karotes” is about
Oskars Deigelis wrote the lyrics and co-wrote the music, while Andris Strods is the other co-author of the music. Deigelis says he often writes songs inspired by a saying, a passing thought or remarks made by people around him. This time the inspiration was a phrase about how good it is to have someone beside you who, poetically speaking, knows how much sugar your coffee needs. That is what the song is about.
Who contributed
Jānis Narbuts, who as usual was entrusted with the bass parts and the mixing, took part in making the song. Cellist Mārtiņš Turss also contributed to the overall sound. The final processing stage of the recording was carried out in London by Angela Nevens and Jan Pavlikovski. A lyric video for the song was also created by Kintija Deigele.
