Comfort Over Maneuverability

The Hiboy P6 is an aluminum alloy electric bike that lacks grace and maneuverability but makes up for it with comfort. It features a wide, plush seat, a hydraulic suspension fork (lockable), and deep-tread 26-by-4-inch tires that flatten every bump. The reviewer, riding in Denver, felt invincible to glass and potholes, comparing the experience to a Mad Max version of an e-bike.

Best Suited for Taller Riders

The reviewer, at 5'4", felt unstable when stopped, especially on steep inclines, even with the seat at its lowest setting. The brand does not recommend the bike for people under 5'3". The P6 will likely be more comfortable for taller or larger individuals, or those used to e-bikes, fat bikes, or heavy mountain bikes.

Power and Modes

The Class 3 P6 has a 750-watt motor (peak 1000 watts) and three riding options: pure electric mode (throttle up to 20 mph), pedal assist (up to 28 mph), and analog mode. Pedal assist can feel jerky without the right power mode and gear combo (Shimano seven-speed system), but once dialed in, the ride is very smooth.

Controls and Display

A display on the right handlebar shows speed, mode, distance, and battery life. A plus button increases pedal assist, while buttons control the lights and horn. The reviewer warns against leaning on the handlebars to avoid accidentally honking the loud horn. On the left, gear shifters and a gear indicator are located.
