Horford: Only a Few Messages Exchanged With Porzingis in Recent Weeks
Golden State Warriors veteran Horford said he has briefly been in touch with Latvian teammate Kristaps Porzingis, whose absence from the NBA club remains unexplained. He declined to reveal what they discussed.

Horford, a veteran player for the Golden State Warriors, said he has stayed in touch with teammate Kristaps Porzingis, the Latvian center, who is currently absent from the club in the NBA, North America's professional basketball league.
Horford said contact has been very limited. According to him, he and Porzingis have occasionally exchanged a couple of messages, but nothing more than that, and several weeks have already passed.
He did not want to disclose details of their conversations, citing respect for the Latvian's privacy. Horford stressed that he has to respect what is happening right now and wait until Porzingis himself says what he wants to say.
A shared past
The two players are now teammates in Golden State for a second season. Before that, they played together for two seasons with the Boston Celtics, and in 2024 they became NBA champions.
Porzingis's situation
It was previously reported that Porzingis is no longer being paid his scheduled salary because of his absence. The Warriors are said to be weighing options to trade the Latvian, while the player himself could end his career because of POTS symptoms. These claims come from earlier reports, and the source text contains no official confirmation.
