Estonia to release coin featuring Kõpu Lighthouse in 2027
The Bank of Estonia will issue a new 2-euro commemorative coin in 2027 dedicated to Hiiumaa island and its symbol, the Kõpu Lighthouse. The coin is part of a series featuring Estonia's counties.

The Bank of Estonia has announced it will put into circulation a new 2-euro commemorative coin dedicated to Hiiumaa county in 2027. The coin belongs to a broader series depicting Estonia's various counties.
A design competition for the coin was held, and the winning entry was Kaupo Kangro's work titled "Dageida". Second place went to Heino Prunsvelt's design "Dagö", while third place was awarded to a sketch called "Horizon" by Svetlin Georgiev Balezdrov.
The new coin will feature Hiiumaa's symbol, the Kõpu Lighthouse, surrounded by sea waves. The design will also include a striped pattern taken from the skirt of the island's national costume.
One million copies of the coin are expected to enter circulation in 2027.
