Estonia's Food and Veterinary Service has detected salmonella in instant noodles of the brand 'Reeva', which are produced in Ukraine. This was reported by Latvia's Food and Veterinary Service (PVD).
Salmonella is a bacterium that can cause serious food poisoning symptoms, including diarrhea, fever, and abdominal cramps. It poses a particular risk to young children, the elderly, and individuals with weakened immune systems.
The Latvian PVD stated that it has received the information from its Estonian counterparts and is monitoring the situation. Currently, there is no information on whether these noodles have entered the Latvian market. However, consumers are advised to exercise caution and not consume the product if purchased.
The Estonian service is conducting further investigations to determine the source and extent of contamination. Meanwhile, consumers are encouraged to follow official announcements.
