The party For the Development of Latvia did not clear the 5% threshold in the Saeima (Latvian parliament) election, so it will not enter parliament. The party now needs to consider its mistakes and the changes it should make, said Ivars Ijabs, a member of the party's board and a Member of the European Parliament, in an interview with Latvian Television's morning programme Rīta Panorāma.

Ijabs said the party cannot continue in the same way as before. The source does not specify which mistakes he had in mind or what changes might follow.

In Saeima elections, a party must win at least 5% of the vote to receive seats. Parties that fall short of this threshold do not enter parliament.
