Instagram is testing new ways to customize 'Your Algorithm'
Instagram head Adam Mosseri has revealed that the platform is testing additional ways for users to fine-tune their algorithm, including new feedback buttons and menu access.

Instagram is exploring more options to let users control their content feed, as shown in a recent post by Instagram head Adam Mosseri. He demonstrated several new methods to access and interact with 'Your Algorithm', a feature that lets users specify topics they want to see more or less of.
According to Mosseri's post, one test involves pulling down on the feed to bring up the 'Your Algorithm' menu. Another test allows users to swipe up from a Reel to access a similar customization prompt. A third addition includes buttons beneath each Reel to indicate whether the user wants to see more Reels like it.
"We want to evolve 'Your Algorithm' from a setting to something that feels central to your experience on Instagram," Mosseri said, adding that some of these features are currently being tested, some are coming soon, and others might not work out.
The most popular comments on Mosseri's post all shared a common request: users want the algorithm to prioritize content from accounts they follow. As one commenter put it, "WE JUST WANT OUR ALGORITHM TO SHOW THE PPL WE FOLLOW."
Instagram launched 'Your Algorithm' last year and has been gradually introducing it to more parts of the app. The new tests reflect the company's efforts to make content personalization more accessible and responsive to user preferences.
