Instagram video tests celebrities' farming knowledge, with amusing results
An Instagram video put basic agriculture questions to several well-known people, and some answers proved surprising. German farming portal agrarheute uses it to raise the question of how well the public understands where food comes from.

The German farming portal agrarheute on 8 November 2026 took up an Instagram video in which several celebrities were quizzed on basic agricultural knowledge. The clip suggests that even seemingly simple topics trip some of the participants up, with answers ranging from surprising to downright odd.
What was asked
The video did not ask about complex cultivation methods or rare breeds. The celebrities were asked where carrots grow, how many stomachs a cow has, what oat flakes are made from, what a male pig is called and which vegetable grows underground. When the answer "four" was given for a cow's stomachs, one participant asked in astonishment whether there was "one for each teat."
Participants were also asked to finish traditional farming sayings, such as those beginning "What the farmer doesn't know..." and "The dumbest farmers have the biggest..."
A wider question
The portal notes that the video, which draws laughs, also touches on a more serious subject: how much people today still know about the origin of their food, domestic farm animals and the cultivation of crops. Although food reaches the plate every day, knowledge of how it is produced is not always a given, particularly where there is no direct contact with farming.
Whether the celebrities' answers say anything real about the general population's knowledge is left open in the source. The video does, however, offer an entertaining prompt for people to test their own knowledge.
