Iran Again Closes Strait of Hormuz After Israeli Strikes on Lebanon
Iran has closed the strategic Strait of Hormuz again, accusing Israel of violating a ceasefire, while clashes and airstrikes continue in Lebanon.

On Saturday, Iran announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz to maritime traffic, citing Israeli attacks on Lebanon that followed a provisional ceasefire between Israel and the Hezbollah group. This decision reverses the earlier reopening that had been carried out under a preliminary agreement with the United States.
The Strait of Hormuz is a critical passage for oil and gas shipments, and its closure for most of the war period caused turmoil in global energy markets. In recent days, shipping traffic had begun to resume, but it is now halted again.
On Friday, further talks on the US-Iran agreement were planned in Switzerland, but they were postponed indefinitely after Israel launched a series of attacks on Lebanon, resulting in the deaths of four Israeli soldiers. Iran's central military command accuses Israel of violating the ceasefire terms, even though the ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah is still technically in effect, but clashes continue.
