Italian startup Archimede raises €1.5 million for remote infrastructure monitoring
Italian DeepTech startup Archimede has closed a €1.5 million Seed round to develop its modular system for monitoring critical infrastructure in off-grid locations.

Archimede, an Italian DeepTech startup specializing in modular systems for managing and monitoring off-grid critical infrastructure, has announced the closing of a €1.5 million Seed funding round, surpassing its initial €1 million target. The funds will be used to strengthen the technical and commercial teams, complete product industrialization, accelerate enterprise pilots, and support international expansion.
The round was led by Primo Capital SGR through its funds, with participation from CDP Venture Capital, Plug and Play, ELIS through CrossConnect, as well as 40Jemz and Irritec.
Founded in 2024 by Riccardo Puglisi, Alessandro Basile, and Ferdinando Anselmi, Archimede has developed ArchMesh, a modular plug-and-play kit that combines predictive energy management, multi-constellation satellite connectivity, and a low-code software platform. This enables bidirectional control of distributed facilities even in areas without reliable terrestrial network coverage.
The product targets multiple industries including agriculture, oil and gas, logistics, public infrastructure, and defense. The company also plans to develop an open-source version to lower adoption barriers for developers and system integrators.
CEO and co-founder Riccardo Puglisi emphasized that the innovation originated in Sicily, aiming to challenge stereotypes and demonstrate that world-class technology can emerge from the region. Investor Mara Attardi from Primo Capital noted that Archimede built its solution in an environment where energy and connectivity are not guaranteed, turning that challenge into a product. She added that the integrated stack is designed for the edge of the connected world, where demand is growing fastest.
Archimede has already launched projects with major enterprises, including a PoC with Eni Joule to test ArchMesh for remote monitoring of industrial assets in low-connectivity areas. The goal is to transform ArchMesh into a scalable platform for off-grid infrastructure management, bringing space and digital technologies to practical industrial use cases.
