State ceremonies took place in Jerusalem to mark the National Day of Remembrance for victims of the October 7 attack. Three years ago, militants from the Palestinian group Hamas killed approximately 1,200 people in Israel and seized more than 250 hostages.

The attack triggered a large-scale Israeli military operation in the Gaza Strip, which has continued in the years since.

President's address

At the memorial ceremony, Israeli President Isaac Herzog addressed the gathering, urging the public not only to remain alert to external threats but also to prevent division within Israeli society. His remarks were framed as a call for unity at a difficult time, as the country continues to deal with the consequences of the attack.

The ceremonies were held at the state level, with senior officials attending to honor the memory of those killed and to mark the significance of the event in Israel's recent history.
