Jāņi Eve is a time when traditions and games blend to create a joyful and magical atmosphere. One of the key symbols of Jāņi is the circle, representing the sun, and the wreath. Games are not only entertainment but also a kind of magical act, especially useful after a hearty meal.

Sun and Moon is a game to start the celebration. Participants form a circle ("garden"). A girl (Sun) and a boy (Moon) stand outside. Singing, the circle moves clockwise, while Sun and Moon move counter-clockwise. At the words "Run, run," the circle stops, and the Moon chases the Sun around the circle. The song repeats until the Sun is caught, then they spin together holding hands. Finally, they choose successors.

Here, Jānis's Children! is a game for large groups. Players pair up and form two lines of boys and girls facing each other, creating a "gate." The game has nine rounds, each with different moves: galloping through the gate, ducking under arms, and intricate weaving patterns. Elements like elbow turns and swapping places keep the game dynamic. Beginners can start with simpler steps like galloping and turning in pairs.

Big Jānis, Little Jānis is a game inspired by the search for the fern flower. Players form two concentric circles moving in opposite directions while singing. In the second part of the song, a designated "circle-splitter" from the inner circle cuts through the outer circle and leads their group out, while those at the break point lead their group in. The circles thus swap, creating movement and surprise.
