The extreme weather disrupted transport and power supply across the region, leaving thousands of households without electricity. Roads and rail services were halted, complicating rescue and recovery efforts. Emergency crews were deployed to assess damage and assist those affected.
The storm also affected Narita International Airport, located in Chiba. Thousands of travelers were stranded at the airport after services were suspended. Airport staff arranged temporary accommodation and provided food for those unable to leave.
Authorities have not yet given a timeline for full restoration of transportation and electricity. Weather forecasters warn that further rain could hit the area, urging residents to stay alert and follow official guidance.
