Japan's football team dominates Tunisia 4-0 in World Cup match
Japan's men's football team secured a convincing 4-0 victory over Tunisia in the World Cup group stage on Saturday, earning their second win of the tournament.

Japan's national football team defeated Tunisia 4-0 (2-0) in a Group F match at the World Cup finals on Saturday. Forward Ayase Ueda scored twice, while Daichi Kamada and Junya Ito each added a goal.
Kamada opened the scoring in the fourth minute after Keito Nakamura passed the ball into the penalty area. Ueda doubled the lead in the 31st minute with a powerful shot from the edge of the box.
In the second half, Ito made it 3-0 in the 69th minute, running onto a pass from Ueda and beating the goalkeeper one-on-one. Tunisia's defensive mistake in the 83rd minute led to a Japanese counterattack, ending with a header from Ueda off a cross by Kaishu Sano.
Earlier in Group F, the Netherlands beat Sweden 5-1. After two matches, the Netherlands and Japan have four points each, Sweden has three, and Tunisia remains pointless.
This is the first World Cup to feature 48 teams. The tournament is being held across Mexico, the United States, and Canada. The teams are divided into 12 groups, with the top two from each group and the eight best third-placed teams advancing to the knockout stage. The group stage ends on June 27, with knockout rounds starting June 28. Semifinals are scheduled for July 14 and 15, the bronze medal match for July 18, and the final for July 19.
Argentina, the reigning champions, won the previous World Cup in Qatar in 2022 by defeating France in a penalty shootout.
