Japanese tech company Epson opens European business services centre in Riga
Japanese technology group Epson has chosen Riga as the home of its new European Business Services Centre. The investment in the project exceeds six million euros.

Japanese technology company Epson is opening its new European Business Services Centre in Riga, Latvia's capital. Investment in the project exceeds six million euros, Latvian public media LSM reported on 22 October 2026.
Chosen from nearly 30 cities
The decision in favour of Riga came after tough competition. Almost 30 cities from close to 20 countries competed to host the centre, and the company ultimately selected Riga.
The centre is being set up as Epson's European business services hub. The source does not specify what functions it will carry out, how many jobs it will create or when it will reach full operation.
What it means for Latvia
The investment of more than six million euros, and the win in an international selection against many other European cities, show that Riga was able to compete for foreign companies' service centres.
