New Apple TV 4K Gets Its First, Very Small Discount
Amazon is taking preorders for the new Apple TV 4K at $289.99, which is $9 below the regular price. The streaming box goes on sale on November 13th.

Amazon, the US online retailer, has put the first discount on Apple's new Apple TV 4K streaming box, which is due out on November 13th. The preorder price is $289.99, or $9 below the usual price. That matters to shoppers because the new device costs nearly twice as much as the 2022 model did at launch.
The markdown comes just days after Amazon cut the price of Apple's new smart display for the first time. Apple unveiled the new Apple TV 4K earlier this week.
What the device offers
The box is built around the A19 chip and supports Siri AI out of the box. That feature will also reach older Apple TV 4K models through a software update. Unlike earlier versions, the new model has far-field microphones, so users can make hands-free voice requests. They can, for instance, ask for nature documentary recommendations or questions about what they are watching. Siri AI can also draw on personal context if an iPhone or iPad that supports Apple Intelligence is linked to the account.
The Siri Remote now supports Find My precision tracking: a lost remote can be made to ring or be located through the Find My app on an iPhone. The new model can also pair with up to four compatible HomePod speakers instead of two.
The Verge notes that Apple left out some features that might be expected from a roughly $300 streamer, namely audio passthrough and 120fps output.
Other deals
The outlet also lists other offers. Walmart sells a digital Pikmin 4 Switch copy for $39.88, and Woot is discounting many OtterBox phone cases through October 31st. Fanttik's S1 Pro electric screwdriver costs $45.99 at Amazon, $44 below the regular price.
