Additional Funding of €83,000 Proposed for Oversight of New Election Platform
Latvia's State Chancellery has proposed allocating €83,053 to the Central Election Commission to hire four system analysts for monitoring and quality control of the final development stage of the new election platform, with work expected until the end of 2026.

The State Chancellery of Latvia has proposed allocating €83,053 to the Central Election Commission (CVK) to oversee the final phase of developing a new election platform and to ensure quality control. The funds would cover hiring four system analysts until the end of 2026.
According to the State Chancellery, the development of the election platform has been delayed and still requires implementation of additional features, including those for national referendums and local government plebiscites. The current CVK budget does not allocate funds for these specialists, hence the need for extra financing.
The system analysts will be responsible for testing the platform's functionality, verifying its operations, training election commission staff, and preparing training materials. After the elections, they will evaluate the platform's performance and propose improvements.
The CVK emphasizes that the positions require experienced professionals familiar with the election process and currently working in local election commissions or polling stations. These individuals will be the primary users of the new platform and can provide practical feedback.
