Tourist Train "Jēkabiņš" Begins Operations in Jēkabpils
Jēkabpils has launched a tourist train called "Jēkabiņš," operating on weekends from spring to autumn. The 1996-built train covers a 10-kilometer route along the Daugava embankment and the old town. Initial response has been overwhelming, with more than half of the monthly passenger target reached in the first few days.

A new tourist attraction has started operating in Jēkabpils – the "Jēkabiņš" train. Manufactured in 1996, this train will now run through the city streets on weekends from spring to autumn. The route is nearly 10 kilometers long, taking passengers along the Daugava protective embankment and through the old town. The response from locals and tourists has been highly positive, with over half of the projected monthly passenger count achieved within the first few days. This indicates that "Jēkabiņš" could become a popular way to explore the city.
