Jelgava to carry out preventive disinfection of drinking water system this week
From June 15 to 17, Jelgava will undergo preventive disinfection of its drinking water supply, which may cause a slight chlorine odor, but the water remains safe for use.

The municipal company "Jelgavas ūdens" has announced that from today, June 15, through June 17, the city's drinking water supply system will undergo preventive disinfection. The company states that a slight chlorine smell may be noticeable, but the chlorine concentration will remain within permissible limits, making the water safe for consumption and household use.
During the disinfection period and for 24 hours afterward, it is recommended to use boiled water for drinking, as well as for pets, aquariums, and houseplants.
