Jelgava Man Deniss Returns to Prison After Another Theft
Deniss V., previously sentenced for 17 shop thefts, was caught stealing 20 chocolates worth €119.80 and has been convicted again.

Deniss V., a resident of Jelgava, has once again been convicted of theft, just a few years after serving a nine-month prison sentence for 17 shoplifting incidents in self-service stores over a three-and-a-half-month period. After completing his sentence, he returned to his old habits. The latest case, heard in Zemgale Regional Court on June 1, involved a single theft. On March 4, at approximately 11:20 AM, the man took 20 "Karl Fazer" chocolates worth a total of €119.80 from a store and left without paying. Judge Laura France found Deniss V. guilty. While the exact sentence was not disclosed, the man has been incarcerated again. The case highlights that the previous punishment did not deter him from reoffending.
