According to the United Nations, more than 86,000 people in Yemen have been forced from their homes since July as fighting has intensified between Iran-backed Houthi rebels and forces loyal to the internationally recognised government.
Seeking refuge
A large share of those displaced have headed to Aden, a city under government control, where refugee camps have been set up to accommodate the growing number of arrivals. Others have chosen to leave the country altogether, crossing the water to neighbouring Djibouti in search of safety.
A conflict without end
Yemen's war between Houthi forces and the government has dragged on for years, already producing one of the world's most severe humanitarian crises. The latest surge in violence since July shows the conflict remains far from resolved, pushing new waves of civilians from their homes and adding pressure on both domestic shelters and neighbouring countries that are taking in the displaced.
