Yemeni forces launch offensive to retake Houthi-held al-Waziiya in Taiz

Yemeni forces have launched an offensive to retake the al-Waziiya district in Taiz province, which is currently held by the Houthis.

Al-Waziiya is a mountainous district. Controlling it is key to holding or retaking Mocha, the Red Sea port that the Houthis seized last month.

Information available on the start of the operation is very limited. The source material gives no details on the forces involved, casualties or how the fighting is unfolding.
